Land Acquisition and Resettlement
The main objective of the resettlement program is to address the social impacts and ensure the successful restoration of living standards, income earning capacity and production levels of project-affected households.
The major scope of resettlement includes:
- Provide compensation for loss of land and other assets by working closely with the Compensation Determination Committee at the District level;
- Prepare a database of the affected persons/households and their socio-economic attributes;
- Determine rehabilitation and other entitlements for those severely affected;
- Assess resettlement impacts in areas identified for land acquisition;
- Monitor effective delivery of resettlement entitlements;
- Provide orientation to those involved in the delivery of resettlement entitlements; and
- Provide other necessary inputs for successful implementation of the resettlement plan
